Many classified sites who list flatshares do not require the landlord to regsiter with them before posting their ad, which means anyone can list a flatshare that doesn't exist anonymously leading to fake flatshare scams
We ask all landlords to register with us before they can list their property and insist on full contact details as well as encouraging the use of videos to showcase their flat shares. We also advise our flatseekers to be sensible with their approach to renting a property and make sure that they have met the landlord at the property, had a good look round, met the other flatmates and are 100% happy with the terms and conditions of the tenancy agreement before handing over any money to the landlord.
